Audio blog for Friday on anhedonia, fatigue, declining entertainment franchises and Newtonian and Einsteinian physics

This is an oddly meandering audio blog that I made this morning, having little desire to write much, and it goes from my troubles with depression and lessening interest in any former source of joy to the fact that even Star Wars and Marvel franchises are going downhill (with speculation about the causes) on to physics–first Newtonian then Special and General Relativity, and ponderings about the nature of near-light-speed travel and its potential effects when a spaceship passes the Schwarzschild radius in the direction of its motion (and even a tiny dabble into cosmic strings, which are not to be mistaken for the “superstrings” of string theory/M theory).  I find no firm conclusions, but maybe it’s mildly interesting somewhere.  It’s longer than I expected it to be, but hopefully not too long.

  1. It cut out twice. Got to 12:39 the first time. 10 something the next. That’s when I gave up. I realize I could run a search and answer this question but I’m sick of searching. I’d rather wonder. And what I was wondering as I listened to you describing the process that causes lift was, is it similar to a riptide? Similar but different? Probably not. I’m forgoing most punctuation today. I usually get it wrong anyway. Don’t all those NSAIDs you take wreak havoc on your stomach? Is marijuana legal in Florida? Another thing I could look up. I’m guessing it’s not. Or that if it were Desantis would have put a stop to that. Of course (?) I’m thinking of pain control. For you. I listened to the song yesterday. As I said before, when I first popped onto this blog of yours, I really like your voice. It has a certain quality to it I find appealing. Does singing bring you joy? That’s enough, Debi. This is not your blog. Comment and get out. Bye bye

    • Thank you very much for you kind words about my singing. I have to say, unfortunately, that though medical marijuana is legal in Florida, I have tried it in more than one form and it does nothing for my pain, and indeed, it made me throw up.

Please leave a comment, I'd love to know what you think!
